About me:

For starters, to debunk any false claims made by certain ebay counterfeit sellers about my website, I have no personal dealings with, and no allegiance to ANY seller of Moncler jackets. I am also not directly connected to Moncler in any way. All of the information I provide on my website and through emails is voluntary and free, and is meant for one and only one thing, and that's to help buyers avoid wasting their money on counterfeited Moncler jackets, and to expose sellers who strive to cheat buyers out of their money. I have nothing to gain by informing others about fake Monclers but counterfeiters have plenty to gain by selling their jackets, so it's no surprise that some of the biggest players in the market try to discredit the information I provide.

I am a blue collar worker in the USA and not even a designer clothing person...so how did this all start for me?

Well, it began with me being cheated by a Bulgarian counterfeiter on ebay back in 2007. I was browsing the internet for a puffy nylon down jacket for my wife and I came across some awesome looking jackets from a brand called Moncler that I had never heard of before. They were very expensive though, so like any buyer would do, I began searching for lower prices. On ebay I found a Moncler jacket called an "Albertina". This was the photo from the listing:

It looked just like the other photos I had seen online at high priced retailers and it was being sold for $300 which was about 1/3 the regular price so I bought it. When I received the jacket, this is what I got:

Although the photo may not tell a lot, this jacket was a disappointment in every way. The material was cheap, the jacket had very little fill to it, and the "fur" was synthetic with the fibers easily pulling out. Clearly it was a different jacket than what was shown in the listing photo. I contacted the seller and they agreed to take it back, but all the while insisting it was an original Moncler jacket directly from the Moncler factory in Bulgaria. At this point I began to research the brand name and that's when I discovered that there was quite a counterfeit market for this brand and that I had become a victim.

Still determined to get one of these jackets, I continued browsing ebay and came across a listing for a used Moncler Bergerac for $200. After my last purchase I was hesitant to buy another one but the seller assured me that the jacket pictured was the exact jacket I would be getting so I bought it.

Now this jacket was soft and luxurious just like I expected an expensive jacket to be. However, because there were plenty of counterfeits being sold and because at this point I had no idea how to tell the difference, I still did not know if this was the real thing or just a much better fake. Nevertheless, I was happy with the jacket so I kept it.

A couple years later I saved up enough money to buy my wife a brand new Moncler Alpes from an authorized dealer (farfetch.com) located in Europe. When this jacket arrived I closely compared it to the Bergerac above, and everything was a match when it came to the label, logo, cartoon and material, so now I was in possession of 2 authentic Moncler jackets.

This is when I began browsing ebay and comparing details from the photos to the details of the jackets I owned and I began to document the differences on how to tell a fake from an authentic one. I knew a lot of other buyers were being scammed by counterfeiters and I felt like people could use a good resource for such information. It started with a simple YouTube video and then eventually an ebay buying guide, and as I learned more about the brand (and there was A LOT to learn) I began to add more information to my guide and create other videos.

Over the years this unexpectedly turn into a hobby, including visiting the stores in Chicago at least once a year to check out the latest Moncler jackets, and pay close attention to what has changed from the previous year as far as the tags and labels go. In 2016 I decided to create a website that would be much more thorough and easier to follow than the endless stream of text and photos in my ebay guide. Plus, on my own website I could specifically name ebay sellers that are regularly cheating buyers by selling fake Monclers, something I could not do in the ebay guide due to their rules.

One thing I have learned about Moncler is that you can't study just one of their jackets and then make a judgment of other jackets by comparison, because Moncler makes subtle changes to their tags and labels every so many years, and while those changes throw off counterfeiters, they can also throw off authenticators who do not keep up with the changes.

My extensive knowledge of this brand has also gotten me positions with 2 private designer clothing authentication companies in the USA.

So that sums up my background with Moncler jackets. I hope you find the information on the website thorough and informative. Cheers!
