"INDUSTRIES" tag:

In 2010 Moncler started consistently using an information tag with the word INDUSTRIES at the top on all of their items. There are a few items from 2009 that will have this tag as well but it's not very common.

This tag displays the address of their regional office and general information about the jacket including the model name, country of manufacture, production codes, and international laundry symbols.

The format of this tag can vary from one jacket to the next and one year to the next but since 2013, any jacket with a QR code tag (large or small style) will also have their Italy address directly beneath the word INDUSTRIES as seen here. Some 2012 tags also had the Italy address but not all.

These tags from 2009 to 2011 are formatted differently and do not have the Italy address:

As an example of the variances between tags (information and text alignment), these 5 tags are all from 2013 models. You can see that at some point during that year, Moncler changed their address in New York.

Some jacket models from 2013 have a typo on this tag. Instead of WEST Broadway, it says WETS Broadway. This is not an indication of a fake but rather a legitimate error in the production of the tag. It's commonly seen on authentic Monclers from 2013. Any 2013 tag with the WEST BROADWAY address MUST have the typo, or it's fake.

There were a few 2014 tags that also had this typo but it's extremely rare. I have only seen it a couple times.

For the most common style of INDUSTRIES tag, there are 4 alignment tests I use to determine if the tag is legit.
  1. The letter I in INDUSTRIES aligns with the right side of the "e" below it
  2. The top of the left parenthesis aligns with the center of the S above it
  3. Following the slant of the italic letters, the S in WEST falls directly between the M above it and the N below it
  4. The period after INC lands just to the left of the top of the letter H below it, again when following the slant of the letter
  5. The 375 WEST BROADWAY line is perfectly centered between the lines above and below it. There are some fakes where this tag is very accurate but not properly centered.

There are some fakes that have an industries tag that could fool a lot of people. This is about the most accurate fake I have seen. Still, if you look closely, you can see that the C in MONCLER hangs below the rest of the letters, and the A in BROADWAY is too close to the O.

In 2018, some jackets may have this tag without the USA address on it, and as of the 2019 collection, the USA address does not exist on any INDUSTRIES tag.

There are plenty of fakes of this style of INDUSTRIES tag with no NY/USA address and some of them are fairly accurate such as the 2 below:

This change makes spotting a fake from the INDUSTRIES tag difficult since previously, most of the alignment issues were in the NEW YORK address lines and a fake was easily identified. In a case such as this, all other details of the jacket must be examined in order to determine authenticity.

Another thing you may notice starting with 2019 tags is that the model name may be in a slightly different font than the 2 lines below it. This is not the case with all 2019 tags but it is something to pay attention to.

Some hats/caps have an alternate style of industries tag not matching any of the tags normally seen on jackets. I believe the misspelling of BROADWAY is simply an error as I have seen it on other hats that are accurate in every other way.

There is also an alternate version of this tag seen on items made in Portugal. It's very rare to see one of these but it is an authentic tag despite it not being consistent with the guideline descibed above.

While most fake INDUSTRIES tags are lacking accuracy, the one below is one of the better ones I have seen. There are only 2 minor issues I can spot. The words MONCLER USA INC. are just slightly too far to the right. Look at where the period after INC lands in relation to the H below it. Also, the 2nd line of the address (375 WEST BROADWAY) is not perfectly centered vertically between the lines above and below it.

Here is another example of a fake that has the alignment near perfect, however, the font is slightly off. The average person may not be able to spot this from a quick look but if you compare the 2 tags, you can see the difference.

There is an alternate variety of this tag that is rarely seen but definitely a legitimate tag. I have been told this tag is for items sold in the Greek market.

NEW FOR 2021:

Moncler has begun using a different style of INDUSTRIES tag on some 2021 models, but not all. This new style of tag is found on all 2022 items with rare exception.
This is a good idea on Moncler's part to include the size on the tag since counterfeiters always copied a single tag and put it on all jackets, all sizes.

You will also notice that on the above tag, the 2 lines containing the size are indented on the left. There are some tags, although not very common, where it is not indented. I have been unable to find any consistencty as to why some do and some don't.

This is the one exception I have seen when it comes to the text being aligned to the left. This from a polo shirt made in Portugal, where it's from 2022 but the text is centered. Sometimes odd factory locations can have alternative style tags but it's rare.

As expected, it didn't take long for counterfeiters to pick up on the new style of tag. This one is fake.

There are also versions of this tag that do not have the country of manufacture printed on the tag. This could apply to jackets made for the USA retail market where there is a separate tag at the collar stating the country it was made in.
Prior to 2010, you would commonly see tags similar to this on jackets, instead of the industries tag:
